Home: Welcome

This book is a primer for joyful living. I have attempted to gather simple truths from my day to day life and the wisdom of great authors and ancient texts and combine them into a presentation on living narrated in first person plural to speak to the reader intimately. I am sure this book will throw light on the intimate and hidden inner world of the readers.

About the Author

Synergy of East & West

I am a passionate student of life who likes to learn everything by myself through trying and failing innumerable times. Life for me is a journey of eternal learning.
Born in the rich culture of South India and educated in English, I have been exposed to two opposing world views enabling me to achieve synergy and realize true harmony. I belong to the linguistic community “Saurashtra” who were silk weavers patronised by kings of yore. Our ancestors are said to have migrated from the western part of India to Tamil Nadu in the south several centuries ago.
Born in 1960 to a father who served in the lower ranks of the Indian Central Government and a mother who was less educated, I was brought up by my grandmother, a very traditional woman, in the extended family. With my two younger brothers I was afforded English education from the beginning that enabled me to become fluent in the language right from my childhood. Graduating in Agriculture from the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University in Coimbatore I secured the prestigious position of Probationary Officer in State Bank of India, the premier bank in the country. After a dedicated service of over two decades, I ventured out on my own to learn about real life outside the cocoon of privileged living that my parents and my job had offered me till then.
Growing up in the country as India underwent its pangs of Westernisation, I was able to synthesise the self-oriented Western perspective with the community oriented native one to arrive at a wholesome concept of self after considerable efforts and experimentation. This book is the culmination of decades of efforts in discovering my real place in this world.
Married to Vijayashree with a daughter Meenalochani, who has gifted me with a lovely granddaughter, I live in the Southern cities of Bangalore and Coimbatore with my family and my aged aunt.
